4. Lecture 4: Backward Proofs🔗

This lecture supplies the proof method that Lecture 3 postponed, following chapter 3 of the Hitchhiker's Guide to Logical Verification.A. Baanen, A. Bentkamp, J. Blanchette, J. Hölzl, J. Limperg, The Hitchhiker's Guide to Logical Verification, 2026 edition, chapter 3. It presents tactic mode, the basic tactics, the rules for the connectives, the quantifiers and equality, the rewriting tactics rw and simp, and proofs by mathematical induction, and it re-proves several of the statements that Lecture 3 left with sorry, now as theorems of its own.

This lecture is also available as presentation slides.
